Lacroix

Unlike most giants depicted in the story, Lacroix carries a fairly ordinary face, free of a beard or the strange features his race often bears. A broad, heavy gut rounds out his frame as with others of his size. He sports a Marine cap above a double-breasted suit whose sleeves are turned up, set off by a purple necktie, and the regulation coat worn by senior officers rests across his back.

True to his station, Lacroix holds a firm commitment to justice. The animated version casts him as an adherent of absolute justice who pressed his men not to waver, a depiction the manga has never expressly backed.

Some twenty four years prior, Lacroix numbered among the giants enlisted into the Marines so the force could brace for the approaching age of pirates. At the Marineford battle he took up position with Vice Admiral Lonz and their fellow Giant Squad members ahead of the scaffold while Sengoku disclosed Ace's parentage to the wider world. As Little Oars Jr. came barreling in, the squad rushed to defend the bay, and Lacroix noted aloud that never before had he been forced to gaze upward at a foe. He led the charge against the giant prisoner, only to be felled once his saber cracked apart on the larger man's blade, then was lifted back up by the other giants after Sengoku declared the fighting finished.

His office gives him command over countless lower Marines, while his enormous body lends tremendous power, letting him withstand gunfire and cannon rounds from hostile ships. Every vice admiral can wield Haki, and he fights with a colossal saber scaled to his size. Later he attended Sakazuki's meeting concerning Z, and when the Marines tapped into a call between Big Mom and Kaidou, he was stationed at Red Port.
