Personality

Toward its young the Mountain God is intensely protective, turning vengeful and ruinous the moment the little one is carried off. When that happens it pursues the child relentlessly, willing to lay waste to an entire city until it is found again. Wano's old legends hold the creature to be a divine being.

History

Forty-one years prior to the present day, the boar erupted in fury after a trio of men snatched its child and Kin'emon hauled the young one away to the Flower Capital. Hunting for it, the creature swallowed a whole village's worth of people, Tsurujo included, before bearing down on the capital. Kin'emon swung at the beast in vain, and it barreled toward Kouzuki Oden upon catching sight of its child at his side. Oden brought his swords across the boar horizontally, splitting it open and setting free everyone trapped within its belly.

Such was the precision of that cut that the divided halves could be stitched together again, and so the Mountain God lived through the affair remembered as the Mountain God Incident. Years later, with Oden set to visit the capital once more, the boar was instructed to stay put while its child was lured into a crate. From there it took up service to the Kouzuki Family beside its offspring, named Koyama.
