Appearance

Deep wrinkles line Mummy's face, much of which is hidden behind bandages that cross into an X over its center. Feathers ornament the top of his head, and his hands too are bound in wrappings. Over his body he drapes a fur covering, in all likelihood fashioned from animal hide.

Personality

Mummy is easily rattled, panicking the instant Cavendish dozes off because he knows the violent Hakuba persona is about to emerge. For all that fear, he holds a code of honor. He willingly puts himself in harm's way to keep Doflamingo occupied and protect Luffy, buying the pirate the time he needs to bring the Warlord down.

History

Little is documented about Mummy's actual fighting ability, though his decision to enter the Corrida Colosseum as a sorcerer suggests faith in his own power. In the anime he raises his hands and chants an incantation that leaves two charging gladiators gasping for air and unable to fight on, and he also carries an ordinary axe into battle. Joining the tournament for the Mera Mera no Mi, he was sorted into D Block and readied himself as the battle royale opened. Once the field narrowed to twenty, Cavendish's Hakuba alter ego burst out and cut down everyone left in the block, with Mummy struck by a gout of Damask's fire and left lying defeated. Later, after Doflamingo unleashed his Birdcage and Luffy was nearly spent, Mummy and his fellow gladiators rallied to support the exhausted Straw Hat. Their attempt to strike Doflamingo directly failed and they were swatted aside, but the delay let Luffy recover, defeat Doflamingo, and collapse the Birdcage.
