Red lipstick and gold earrings complete her made-up look, and she favors a showy purple coat fringed with a fluffy white fur collar over a yellow-orange button shirt and a red dress. The anime alters several details, giving her orange hair, pearl earrings, a brown collar, a pink shirt, and a yellow dress, and her earliest anime appearance showed her with brown hair and a white frilly collar instead.

Compassion drives Mummy Mee, who moved to look after Nojiko and Nami the moment she learned the two girls had been orphaned. Her insistence that the orphanage was the better place to raise them, and how hard she pressed the point, reveals genuine concern for children in her care; an indifferent woman would not have argued so strenuously.

When Bell-mere returned to Cocoyasi Village with two orphaned girls, Mummy Mee and Daddy Dee, backed by the sheriff Genzo and Dr. Nako, urged her to hand the children over to their orphanage. Bell-mere instead chose to raise the pair on her own, which left the two houseparents stunned and scrambling to change her mind. Their pleading ended only when Bell-mere shouted them all into silence, and Mummy Mee, frightened by the outburst, was reduced to tears before giving up.
