Oran lived on the island of Ohara as the husband of Roji and father of Mizuira. Younger brother to Nico Olvia, he reluctantly took in young Nico Robin as a foster ward, and he died when Ohara was wiped out.
Oran combed his black hair over to one side and wore glasses, his face carrying a slim, curling mustache and a little stubble at the chin. His clothing stayed modest and neat: a collared shirt beneath a sweater, topped off with a bowtie.
Toward Robin, Oran amounted to a mostly absent guardian. He offered the occasional kindness, consoling her after her mother set sail and shielding her from his wife's cruelty, but he rarely challenged Roji's temper. Even though his sister had begged him to look after her beloved daughter, he let Roji treat the child as little more than a servant.
Twenty-eight years ago, against Roji's wishes, Oran agreed to raise his niece Robin. He saw Olvia off at the harbor as her voyage began and tried to calm the weeping girl, stepping in when Roji threatened to hit her for not stopping. Years later, when Mizuira turned eight, the couple took their own girl out for a celebratory dinner while Robin was left home with all the housework. Around four days after Saul reached the island, Oran grew irritated one early morning by Roji's shouting at Robin, who had taken the whole loaf of bread.
He is believed to have perished alongside the other people of Ohara when the escape ship was destroyed under Sakazuki's orders. Since he was Olvia's brother, his name might properly have been Nico Oran, though nothing official confirms it.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
