Pankuta Dakeyan

Broad across the shoulders and tan-skinned, Dakeyan keeps his head shaved bald. His face is marked by a heavy jaw cut square, full lips, narrow eyes, and a scar that traces down the right side. He is dressed in the standard prison stripes of black and white along with a matching cap.

The manga renders him as a quiet, composed figure who keeps to himself. The anime takes a sharper angle, showing him as brash when he tells his cellmates that he need not hand his food over to the room's boss each time he eats. That same adaptation also has him panic and plead with Minotaurus not to be moved to another cell, since he was never condemned to die.

Nothing concrete is known about his fighting ability, yet the World Government judged him dangerous enough to lock away in Impel Down. Gauging his real strength is tricky, given that he took a beating from his cellmates without lifting a hand to defend himself. At some earlier point he was convicted as a criminal and shipped to the prison. His debut scene has him eating bread in his cell, ignorant of the custom that newcomers surrender their bread to the room's boss. A fellow inmate set on him for the breach, but Minotaurus broke the scuffle apart and hauled both men off to a cell labeled L-5 2660. In a later anime versus manga gag, his facial scar appears and vanishes between scenes, and the bloody result of the cellmate's blow shown in print was toned down on screen.
