Short of stature with tanned skin and brown hair of middling length, Pontanitaire turns out in the regular Marine kit: a sleeveless white shirt, a blue neckerchief, and blue trousers tucked into dark boots, topped by a white cap reading MARINE. His officer status earns him a Marine coat over the rest.
