Appearance

What he looked like while living has never been recorded. The form he takes after seizing Drayke's body, however, shows skin tinted blue, eyes glowing red, and the Rainbow Eye fixed in the center of his brow. Two white spikes ringed in grey sweep up from his scalp, and his face carries a sharp moustache and a trimmed beard.

Personality

Old tales describe him as a gentle and peace minded monarch. That changed once pirates stormed Rainbow Island. From then on a deep loathing for the entire breed took root in him, intense enough that he would imprison himself for centuries simply to one day pay them back.

History

In ages past the Rainbow King held the throne of Rainbow Island during what legend remembers as a calm and untroubled reign. That ended when raiders landed and laid the place to waste. As the few survivors escaped toward Silver Arrow Island, the king bound his own spirit within the Rainbow Eye, consumed by hatred. His body was left behind in the sealed chamber and decayed over time until only bones remained. Legend further claims he gained immortality, though the truth of that is uncertain.

Generations later Drayke broke the seal and tried to harness the Eye, only for the Rainbow King to take him over, set on wiping out every pirate as payback for the island's ruin. Awake in his new body, he boasted that his scheme had worked and moved to slay Dias and Atoli. The Straw Hat Pirates cut in before he could, and deciding the Rainbow Castle was too cramped for a real fight, he told them to come to the sand dunes and went ahead. Through the Eye he commanded the island's moles, which swarmed Dias and knocked him flat, but encouragement from the Straw Hats and Atoli let Dias rise again. Together they struck the king head on, beat him back, and broke his hold over Drayke.
