Rokkaku is a Marine lieutenant junior grade stationed at the 153rd Branch in Shells Town. Once an officer under Axe-Hand Morgan, he is remembered for defying his captain's cruel order, and he later survives to serve under Commander Ripper after the timeskip.
Tanned skin, sharp cheekbones, and a dark goatee mark Rokkaku's face, which originally carried a scar over the right eye. He swaps the standard blue Marine necktie for a green one. By the time he reappears past the timeskip, the old scar has vanished for reasons left unexplained. The manga left his facial hair uncolored, while the anime gave it a darker shade.
Though Morgan's temper terrified the whole base, Rokkaku found the nerve to push back when told to murder the child Rika, proving he would defend his principles. That refusal also revealed a conscience absent in his captain, since he would not raise a hand against a little girl.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...
After Morgan learned Rika had survived sneaking into the base grounds, he commanded Rokkaku to head into town and kill her. The officer declined, unwilling to harm a young girl. Morgan insisted his word was law, but Rokkaku held his ground a second time, and for that defiance Morgan struck him across the back with his axe-hand.
He pulled through the assault and resurfaced long after the timeskip, eating at Rika's canteen while still posted at the Marine base, now answering to Ripper. The anime softened his wounding, making it look as if the axe's blunt handle had clubbed him rather than its blade cutting him open. His name comes from the Japanese word for hexagon, a nod to the shape of his face, and both the VIZ manga and the Funimation dub mistakenly treated him as having died at Morgan's hands.
