Shine

Broad-shouldered, tan, and tall, Shine wears the regulation Marine outfit, a white shirt with a blue ascot, a Marine cap, and rank epaulettes on his shoulders. Sunglasses sit over his eyes, and his brown hair pairs with a distinctive black goatee that splits into two prongs ending in a point. A ship is tattooed on his left arm.

Shine treats his Marine duties with real earnestness, delivering thorough reports to Hina with enthusiasm. That composure tends to slip, however, whenever he is confused or put under pressure by his superiors. He respects Hina and salutes her dutifully, yet he also fears her temper when she rounds on him in anger.

During the Arabasta campaign Shine informed Hina that Fullbody and Jango had seized an enemy vessel, then reported that the kingdom's coast had been sealed off, though the Straw Hats' ship had not turned up at Erumalu as expected. When Hina angrily demanded to know whether they had slipped away, he nervously argued escape was impossible since they had blocked the Sandora River's mouth, and she ordered a more rigorous search. He later appeared at Marineford, arriving with Hina among the reinforcements summoned ahead of Portgas D. Ace's execution.
