Shioyaki

Pink-skinned and modeled on a salmon, Shioyaki carries a fin sprouting from the crown of his head alongside wavy brown hair, and a dark wave-shaped tattoo marks his brow. His forearms are noticeably hairy. For clothing he favors a deep green shirt patterned with a red blossom, wrapping his lower half in a blue cloth worn over tan trousers, and he goes about in brown sandals.

Where his crewmates earn his admiration, the Marines earn his scorn. Shioyaki holds his fellow pirates in high regard while dismissing the naval forces as little threat, a confidence that proved justified when his officer shipmates routed a Marine squad sent to arrest Arlong.

As a fish-man, Shioyaki moves freely beneath the waves, can remain submerged indefinitely, and possesses strength well past any ordinary human. Even so, he buckles against truly formidable foes, getting knocked flat when Luffy whipped Momoo around by the horns and bowled over the whole pack of fish-men at once.

He signed on with Arlong after the captain split from the Sun Pirates, joining the eight-year stranglehold over the Conomi Islands. When Pudding Pudding led a Marine detachment to capture Arlong, Shioyaki and Take confidently predicted the officers Hatchan, Chew, and Kuroobi would overwhelm them, which came true as the trio sank the Marine vessel. Later, when Momoo charged the Straw Hats on Hatchan's order, Shioyaki and the others followed the sea cow's lead and were flattened together by Luffy. After the defeat, the Marines hauled him off to prison. In the anime he also reacted with shock to Hatchan's forgetfulness over Zoro and marveled, with Take, at Arlong catching a cannonball in his jaws.
