Vinsmoke Judge, known as Garuda, is king of the Germa Kingdom, supreme commander of Germa 66, and patriarch of the Vinsmoke Family, making him Sanji's biological father. A gifted scientist and former MADS member who helped uncover the Lineage Factor, he engineered his own children into super soldiers.
Judge is a towering man whose golden hair falls to his waist. A thin black mustache spikes upward over a small beard and a pronounced cleft chin, and his eyebrows curve like his children's, only thicker. A golden helmet almost always covers his head, lost only when Big Mom shattered it in battle. His usual garb is a Germa raid suit: a gray robe stamped with 66, a large orange cape, brown gloves, and jet-propelled black boots that let him hover. For the wedding tea party he switched to a dark gray suit beneath an orange single-shoulder cloak. During his MADS years he went helmetless and far leaner, dressed in a plain suit, with his mustache only beginning to grow.
Judge embodies royal arrogance, certain that royalty exists to be served. He cast off Sanji over the boy's love of cooking, which he equated with servitude, and obsessively chases the lost glory of his bloodline, dreaming of conquering all of North Blue. He prizes raw strength above all, doting on his enhanced children while ignoring Sanji's torment, and he despises compassion as weakness, going so far as to force his wife into surgery to strip their unborn sons of emotion. Politically shrewd, he weighed Germa's World Government privileges against an alliance with Big Mom, yet underestimated her treachery and collapsed into cowardly weeping when his life was threatened. He is also deeply hypocritical, denying Sanji in private while parading him as a son before guests.
As king and supreme commander, Judge wields authority over his subjects and a powerful army, and he once led Germa 66 to vanquish four North Blue kings in the Conquest of Four Nations, leaving him infamous throughout the Underworld. He was a brilliant geneticist who worked beside Vegapunk at MADS, co-discovered the Lineage Factor, and continued cloning and gene-manipulation research alone after Vegapunk's capture; his children, his manufactured soldiers, and the rapid-enhancement raid suits are products of that work. In combat his raid suit grants him tremendous strength, sharp reflexes, great durability, and electricity-charged weapons, letting him fight Sanji evenly with a spear and jet boots. His techniques include Denji Crack, Blaster, and Denji Shaft. He recognizes and can use Haki, and endured Big Mom's Supreme King Haki, though she ultimately overpowered him with ease.
