Yatappe

Yatappe stands at a fairly ordinary height, his dark purple hair worn long and wavy, framed by heavy sideburns. A mustache and beard loop around his mouth, sitting beneath a slim nose and above thick lips. Over his right eye is a round scar.

His piercing, snakelike glare, said to lock people in place wherever it lands, is what gave rise to the Snake-Eyes title attached to his name.

Leading a yakuza family earned Yatappe the devotion of his Kibi followers as well as the trust of the era's other bosses, who worked beside him readily. He thinks highly of Hyougoro, falling in line with the elder's orders and rounding on anyone who dares insult him.

That loyalty made one particular instruction agonizing: when Hyougoro told the bosses to strike him down should the Ice Oni virus overtake him completely, Yatappe gave voice to his deep reluctance about ever doing so.

At some stage Yatappe became the yakuza chief of Kibi, and once the Beasts Pirates seized Wano he stood against them, which landed him in Udon's Prisoner Mine. Luffy's revolt inside the jail freed him along with every other captive. The assembled bosses paid their respects to Hyougoro, then bristled at how casually Luffy spoke to the old man and moved to discipline him, until Hyougoro stepped in and sent them off to rally their own people throughout Wano.

Yatappe afterward fell in with Kibi's Rebel Command Squad, where he unraveled the meaning hidden in Shimotsuki Yasuie's final words, and two days ahead of the Onigashima assault he and the bosses relayed their recruitment totals to Kin'emon. Gathering at Habu Port, the rebels boarded a fleet at Tokage Port together with the Nine Red Scabbards once the Fire Festival began. Disguised in Beasts Pirates clothing, his unit slipped onto the Live Floor and broke cover the instant the Scabbards ambushed Kaidou. Later, while Chopper churned out the Ice Oni antidote, Yatappe and the bosses guarded him alongside X Drake. When the infected but rejuvenated Hyougoro ordered his own death, Yatappe braced himself and brought the blade down, only for Chopper to stop it short and administer the cure.
