Zap

A heavyset, towering figure, Zap is recognizable by his blunt square jaw and a mane of long red hair. He dresses in a deep red captain's coat trimmed with frayed yellow cords running along the shoulders and hem, topped by a helmet. Both hands are fitted with sets of claws, and he rounds out the outfit with pale gray trousers and darker gray footwear.

Zap has a short fuse that flares whenever a plan unravels, such as the moment his prisoner slips away. He also struggles badly with communication, needing to be addressed face to face to follow a conversation. When Bayan tried to question him about his run-in with the Straw Hats without speaking to him directly, Zap completely misread what was being asked.

Beyond the claws strapped to each hand, Zap also carries a sword, though how capable he is with it never becomes clear. His strength is evident from how readily he beat Maccus and Bonney, yet it falls short of the Straw Hats, who took him down without much trouble. During the special he was first seen dining with his crew before discovering his hostages had vanished, then ordering his subordinates to recover them. He later ambushed the Straw Hats and was floored by a sleeping Luffy, but managed to seize Luffy and Amanda to deliver to his boss Bayan. After Maccus and Bonney turned on him and lost, the Straw Hats arrived in time to defeat him together before he could finish them off.
