Zucca cuts a wolfish figure. Brown hair tops his head, a scruffy brown beard covers his jaw, and a pair of false beige ears complete the werewolf-like look. A sword rides on his back.

Little has been revealed of his character beyond his fierce loyalty to Whitebeard. That devotion ran deep enough that he was prepared to gamble his life next to the rest of the crew in the effort to save Ace.

A formidable pirate, Zucca built a fearsome name for himself in the New World and forged an alliance with the Whitebeard Pirates. He fights as a swordsman, seen wielding a blade at Marineford, and while his exact skill has never been measured, it is taken to be considerable. Long before the present era he rose to prominence and bound himself to Whitebeard's cause. When Ace faced execution, Zucca and his crew fought beside the Whitebeard Pirates, charging into the fray after Squard stabbed Whitebeard and pressing forward once the iceberg defenses were shattered. He stood near Luffy and Ace in the moments before Ace's death, among captains such as Choi and Rush, and was later glimpsed alongside Baggaley, Palms, Andre, and Julius as the Heart Pirates' submarine slipped beneath the waves.
