Whitebeard storms forward with his crew clearing a path, while the allies vow revenge on the Marines for tricking Squard into wounding their captain. Marco tells the grieving Squard to stop weeping and repay his debt instead. As Luffy keeps racing for the platform, Ivankov and Jinbe note the Marines pulling back into the plaza. John Giant blocks Whitebeard's advance, only for the Emperor to tilt the whole island with a colossal quake and finish him with a tremor-laced punch to the chest. The three admirals personally brace the execution platform against the shaking. Walls erupt to pen the pirates in, and though Oars Jr.'s body keeps one section from sealing, Sengoku orders Akainu to fire anyway, summoning Ryusei Kazan, a downpour of magma fists.

Whitebeard defeats Vice Admiral John Giant. The Marines raise encircling walls to trap and bombard the Whitebeard Pirates. Akainu strikes the Moby Dick with a barrage of magma. Oars Jr.'s blood and weight jam one wall, leaving a gap in the otherwise sealed perimeter.
