Off Elbaph, Shanks confronts Eustass Kid. A glimpse of the future drives the Emperor to drop Kid and Killer with one blow, after which the giants Dorry and Brogy sink the Victoria Punk and finish off the Kid Pirates entirely.
The episode rewinds to the moments well before Shaka was slain, revealing York as the architect of the whole Seraphim assault. Acting in secret from her fellow satellites, she instructed the weapons to attack every person in the Labophase. The only individuals she exempted were Vegapunk, the Cipher Pol captives, and herself. To keep blame from falling on her, she had S-Snake briefly petrify her with Mero Mero no Mi powers, later quietly reversing the effect.
Out on the open water, the Red Hair Pirates move in on the Kid Pirates over the raid against Elbaph. Eager to test himself against a second Emperor, Kid throws himself into the fight, only to be swarmed by a fleet of Shanks' subordinate crews. Shanks, who had not authorized that engagement, appreciates the loyalty behind it but commands his people to pull back.
Before the allied ships can retreat, Kid draws the magnetic objects across his vessel together and prepares a Damned Punk capable of wiping out the entire fleet, all to reach Shanks. The Emperor's future sight alerts him to this intent, and he personally releases Kamusari, felling Kid with one strike an instant before the attack can launch. Killer, attempting to defend his captain, is caught in the same blow and badly hurt, while the blast that follows knocks out several others and tears into the vessel. Those Kid Pirates still standing give themselves up, pleading to be spared and holding out the rubbings they carry of the Road Poneglyphs.
Shanks pays no mind to the pleas and boards his vessel right as Dorry and Brogy let loose Hakoku from the coastline, sending the Victoria Punk under and dropping Kid into the sea in defeat. The anime expands several beats, adding York summoning the Seraphim to follow her plan, Kid's Damned Punk pulling metal from the fleet's vessels, a fantasy of the defeated Kid speaking with Killer about seizing the last Road Poneglyph and the title of Pirate King, and a closing To Be Continued screen marked by three red slashes that recall Shanks' scars. The episode introduces Hop, Gerotini, Fugar, Pururu, Linaria, and Emma, with Shanks featured as the bonus character.
