Luffy thanks Emet for routing the Marines, then the crew and the Giant Warrior Pirates set a course for their next destination, Elbaf. As word of the Egghead disaster races across the seas, Morgans plots to bend the reporting toward his own spin over Vivi's protests. Kizaru, recovered from the fight, faces a scornful Sakazuki, who questions his commitment, and the strain of having killed a close friend and watched Egghead crumble drives Kizaru to shout back.

A flashback opens the larger picture. Two weeks ahead of the Straw Hats reaching Egghead, Vegapunk, Shaka, and Pythagoras noticed falsified power plant readings and a missing share of the Mother Flame. A week of digging exposed York as the culprit, one who had already handed the flame to the World Government for the destruction of Lulusia and tipped them off about Vegapunk's forbidden Void Century research. Aware that CP0 and the Government would come for him and that flight was pointless, Vegapunk accepted his fate.

Resigned to dying alongside Shaka and Pythagoras, the trio engineered a countermeasure to broadcast the truth after their deaths. Vegapunk taped a hidden message, concealed the Transmission Den Den Mushi inside the Iron Giant, and wiped their memories so York could never locate it. They framed their own demise as a triumph, with Vegapunk trusting that the Straw Hats he had met would one day reach the One Piece.

During Morgans's narration, Sanji's wanted poster mistakenly uses his post-Dressrosa portrait even though it lists his updated bounty figure. The episode holds a rating of 2.4 and tied for ninth place that week alongside Oshiri Tantei.
