Tashigi cuts into the Baroque Works fighters and urges her Marines to recognize their true foe without hesitation. Inside the tower, Mr. 7 and Miss Father's Day gloat about completing the boss's final order and earning a promotion. Below, Luffy keeps trading blows with Crocodile even as the hook's poison seeps into a shoulder wound and numbs him, while the Warlord sneers that forgetting Vivi would have spared the boy all this suffering.

Nami devises a way to fling Vivi upward using Usopp's weather weapon. Vivi rides Chopper, perched on Usopp's shoulders, and a Cyclone Tempo burst sends them leaping toward Sanji, who kicks them on to Zoro. With seven seconds left, the agents fire and strike Zoro, who shoves Chopper and Vivi out of harm's way so Chopper can hurl her at the tower. With five seconds to spare she slices the fuse, only to learn the cannon is itself a time bomb that the cut merely delays.

Crocodile reveals to Cobra how thoroughly he planned the assault, boasting that the bomb's placement guarantees devastation and that severing the fuse changes nothing. Vivi breaks down in frustration as the Warlord's promise that she could never save her homeland seems to come true. Pell then arrives, speaking warmly of the tower and Vivi's childhood. In flashback he reaffirms his oath as the kingdom's protector, takes the bomb, and soars upward. As his voice declares himself Arabasta's Guardian Deity, the Falcon, sworn to destroy enemies of the royal family, the device detonates in the air.

Mr. Love debuts in this installment, and the techniques Lady Smash, used by Mr. 7 and Miss Father's Day, and Vivi's Kujakki String Slasher Runback make their first appearances. Flashbacks include Chaka, Koza, Kebi, Igaram, and Karoo. The episode is part of the Arabasta Arc and aired in English regions under the title The Bomb in the Bellfry.
