Zenny of the Island of Goats and the Pirate Ship in the Mountains!

Low on supplies and hounded by cannon fire from the Marines, the crew uses a sudden bank of fog to their advantage; the pursuing ships smash into newly revealed rocks, and Chief Petty Officer Minchey orders a retreat. Beyond the fog the famished pirates find an uncharted island and an old man watching them through binoculars. When they try to hunt a young goat for food, Nami stops them, and moments later a herd of adult goats swarms the crew.

Chopper, able to speak with the animals, learns the goats were ordered to attack, and the culprit, an old man named Zenny, tumbles from a tree and faints at the sight of Zoro's blade. The crew carries him to his shed, where Chopper treats him and discovers his diseased heart leaves him perhaps three days to live. Searching for food, Zoro stumbles on a derelict pirate ship up the mountain, and Nami suspects Zenny is a former pirate hiding treasure and hoping to escape the island.

At his base, Marine Captain Moore orders Minchey to assemble a landing party and wipe out the Straw Hats. Learning of Zenny's grim prognosis, Sanji prepares a lavish meal so the old man can enjoy his remaining time, while the Navy uncovers records showing Zenny washed ashore two decades earlier alongside a supposed fortune. This is the first installment of the Goat Island Arc.
