Sanji the Cook! Showing His Real Worth at the Marine Dining-room!

Come morning, the Going Merry is hauled into a workshop within the base for closer inspection. Two Marine vessels then request entry to treat wounded crew, and Jonathan grants it. Moving through the fortress dressed as a Marine, Nami comes across Zoro strolling in the open with no thought to concealment. To keep him out of trouble, she flings his swords into a hard-to-reach thicket, giving him a task to occupy himself.

Sanji and Luffy, both got up as Marine cooks, walk straight into the kitchen and are taken for the two new arrivals from headquarters, since the genuine replacements were thrown off by Nami's misdirection. Head chef Jessica greets them coldly and tests their ability. Sanji handily outshines the real cooks while Luffy merely devours whatever sits ready, and the pair are taken on regardless.

Sanji and Luffy secure cover identities inside the Marine kitchen, with Sanji's cooking winning over the demanding Jessica. Zoro, meanwhile, finally recovers his swords from the brush only to tumble into the sea, and when he climbs out he is surrounded and seized by Marines, becoming the first of the crew taken captive.
