Summary

Kumadori, awed by Chopper's monstrous transformation, throws everything he has, but none of it lands, and a lone swing of Chopper's arm smashes him into the floor. Franky retrieves a key from the unconscious Fukurou only to discover it is number four, not the number two that would free Zoro and Sogeking. Reasoning through which agent must hold it, he concludes only Kalifa is left and heads off to help. In the bathroom, Nami lies soaked and immobilized while Kalifa calmly dries off and dresses.

Key Events

Recalling how Sanji was left smooth and shiny, Nami recovers her strength and strikes back, baiting Kalifa under a hidden cloud and zapping her with a Thunderbolt Tempo, though Kalifa shields herself inside a labeled bar of soap. Nami deduces that Kalifa ate the Awa Awa no Mi, catching the agent off guard enough that she confirms it. Kalifa conjures Soap Sheep and reveals that the bubbles coating the floor are what drained Nami's power, then rubs Nami's legs with Golden Awa to leave them slick and useless. Far below, the howling commotion reaches the tunnel as Robin hears Chopper's roar. Luffy finally breaks through a wooden door and finds Lucci waiting on the other side.

Notes

The episode marks the Devil Fruit debut of the Awa Awa no Mi and several of Kalifa's bubble techniques. The Fandom notes that the manga never depicted exactly how Chopper beat Kumadori, and that Franky deduces the key holder despite never witnessing Kaku's or Jabra's key numbers being revealed. After hurling Kumadori clear to the courthouse, Chopper turns on Franky, who fails to recognize him until spotting his trademark hat. The Nami and Chopper eyecatcher is used.
