The Secret Hidden on the Backs - Luffy and the Snake Princess Meet

Hancock's vessel, the Yuda, docks at Amazon Lily, and the Snake Princess makes for her palace amid the cheering Kuja. The aged former ruler, Elder Nyon, urges her to honor the central government's summons so the treaty shielding the island holds, yet Hancock refuses and flings the old woman through a window. Withdrawing to bathe, the empress leaves the villagers retelling an old story in which she and her two sisters once felled a Gorgon and came away cursed with eyes that petrify whoever meets them. Still combing the island for a ship to borrow, Luffy tumbles into that very bath, catches sight of a strange symbol on Hancock's back, and, unmoved by the beauty meant to stone any man, remains entirely unharmed.

The Kuja rejoice over their leader's homecoming as the Gorgon Sisters lead their group off the ship, with Sandersonia and Marigold surprised at how deeply the tribe missed her. Walking her halls in contentment, Hancock receives a ring and tosses it aside lest it dull her image, then crushes a statue of herself once she finds it molded from mud and clay. She also learns her warriors were absent because they were pursuing a beast tearing through the jungle. That beast is Luffy, who is plucked away by a fish just as Kikyo looses another arrow at him. Settling onto her snake throne, Hancock calls for sake before Nyon barges in demanding a hearing and warns that a government ship insists on her presence or she forfeits her title; without it, the island would lie open to pirates and the government alike. Nyon produces a crystal ball that foretells the princess must depart at once, which only enrages Hancock into having her thrown out and the broken glass swept away. Meanwhile Luffy is hurled deeper into the wilds by the fish, scatters a nest of snakes by scrambling up a rock face, and returns to town hoping the Kuja will lend him their pirate ship for the trip back to Sabaody. Breaking into a large building in search of someone important, he crashes into the shallow bathwater and, spotting the mark on her back, draws the furious glare of the Snake Princess.

The episode carries the Amazon Lily Arc forward and brings Enishida into the story for the first time. A brief appearance by Pandawomanmi occurs in the moment that follows Nyon being hurled out the window, as Hancock gives the order to prepare her bath.
