The Dangerous Encounter! Blackbeard and Shiryu of the Rain!

The Jailer Beasts arrive and crush much of the prisoner army, yet Luffy, Jinbe, and Crocodile each topple one with a single blow. On Level 2, Buggy and Mr. 3 find themselves boxed in by a wall of Magellan's poison. On Level 1, Shiryu confronts the invading Blackbeard, and after a brief exchange the pirate is allowed to continue deeper. Magellan orders Hannyabal to stall the escapees until he himself can reach Level 4, while Sadi attacks the prisoners until Ivankov transforms into a woman to duel her and open a way forward. Luffy then meets Hannyabal, armed and ready for battle.

As the Level 4 riot intensifies, the six strongest Newkama fighters try to bring down the Jailer Beasts but lack the power, and the monsters break loose. Luffy, Crocodile, and Jinbe then charge the beasts Minokoala, Minorhinoceros, and Minozebra head-on. Ivankov squares off against Sadi and Saldeath's Blugori, while Daz Bonez and Inazuma clear guards in Luffy's wake. Trapped behind Magellan's poison barrier on Level 2, Buggy and Galdino have no way back. The Blackbeard Pirates make a spectacle on Level 1 that Shiryu must subdue, and on Level 4 Hannyabal turns serious and bears down on Luffy.

Covering pages twelve to nineteen of Chapter 542 and pages two to seven of Chapter 543, this Impel Down arc episode debuts Jinbe's Gosenmaigawara Seiken, Galdino's Candle Coating and Doru Doru Kaijo, the Bara Bara no Dohade Tonkachi, and Sadi's Kofun no Geki: Akamamuchi. The anime swaps the manga's matchups so that Jinbe faces Minorhinoceros and Crocodile faces Minozebra, and the Buggy, Galdino, and Blackbeard sequences are extended. Ode to Joy plays as Hannyabal celebrates his anticipated mission.
