Summary

Just as the executioners move to kill Ace, Luffy unconsciously releases Haoshoku Haki, dropping both of them along with many Marines and even a few Whitebeard Pirates. Ace survives, and the field reels as fighters realize the burst came from his younger brother. Fossa likens it to the willpower of Whitebeard and Shanks, Akainu and Kizaru remark on its raw scale, and Garp quietly notes that Luffy was born with the gift, just as he had suspected. Doberman adds that this is no ordinary rookie, citing his blood as the son of the revolutionary Dragon.

When Ivankov asks how he summoned the power, Luffy has no idea what he means, leading Ivankov to conclude the boy cannot yet truly wield it. Whitebeard commands his men to back Luffy, sending the New World captains against the vice admirals while the rest carve a straight lane to the platform. Inazuma, who had been hiding in Ivankov's hair, uses his Devil Fruit to fold out a bridge to the scaffold. Luffy sprints up it, only for Garp to drop into his path and declare that saving Ace means killing him first.

Notes

The anime stages several clashes absent from the manga, including Doma against Momonga, the Decalvan Brothers against Dalmatian, and McGuy against Doberman. Minor errors slip in as well, such as Whitebeard's naginata vanishing when he knocks away three Marines, and the next-episode preview is again shortened. The installment introduces Andre among its cast.
