The Battle against the Big Tiger! Who is Going to be Captain?!

Having goaded the tiger, Ace finds himself and Sabo on the run from it, and a full week goes by before the pair are back together with Luffy. When Naguri looks back on the defeat he once suffered against Gol D. Roger, the memory stings Ace, whose own bitter ties to his father drive him to round on the former captain. A short scuffle settles things between them, after which Luffy, Ace, and Sabo throw themselves into hard training while lending their hands to the construction of Naguri's pirate ship.

Their training behind them, the boys move to take on the big tiger. At first Ace and Sabo are unable to put it down, and when the animal comes close to killing Luffy, the two seize its paw, leading all three to agree they will have to fight as one. Sabo pulls the tiger's focus while Luffy stretches himself into a slingshot, then baits the beast toward the trap. Ace drops into the loaded sling, Luffy lets him fly with a Gomu Gomu no Rocket, and Ace lands the finishing strike. Saying every one of them shared in the win, Ace decides no single boy will hold the captain's title, and Naguri puts out to sea. The story wraps as Bluejam tells his men to carry word to Sabo's father that the boy has been found.

The studio lists this entry as filler. Its trailer teasing what comes next runs briefer than the show normally allows.
