Surprising Confession! The Truth Behind the Assassination of Otohime!

While heading for the plaza, Jinbe and Shirahoshi come across a figure resembling King Neptune. Against Jinbe's caution, the princess has Megalo dash toward it, and the shape turns out to be a balloon trap that captures the three of them. Bound and beaten at Gyoncorde Plaza, the royal family kneels beside their father as the New Fish-Man Pirates clamor for their executions. Hody Jones refuses to call the battle won until word arrives that Shirahoshi has died, and the chained trio soon thuds down before him, much to his delight.

To impress his might, Hody pours his rank and file into the plaza, putting the crew's full count of one hundred thousand on display, seventy thousand fish-men beside thirty thousand human captives, then commands the frightened residents to abandon their homes for his forces.

Shyarly appears and cautions Hody not to grow too proud, restating her prophecy that the island will be destroyed, though she insists the destroyer will be Luffy and not him. Furious, Hody answers with a water bullet that strikes her down. He scorns the crew once led by her brother Arlong, dismissing those pirates as nothing but an empty rallying flag, then traces his takeover back a decade to the killing of Queen Otohime. He names himself her assassin, having bribed a human pirate to burn the signature box so he could shoot the queen in the turmoil and then murder the human to mislead the island.

Neptune boils over and is silenced by another water bullet, while the citizens are horrified to discover they had directed their rage at a human for a deed Hody had done. He taunts Shirahoshi over her mother's murder, branding her feeble and useless for wishing peace, yet she answers through tears that she had known all along, leaving both Hody and Neptune stunned. Back in the district, Vander Decken IX presses his right palm to the ship Noah, sending the immense hull soaring toward the island as he vows to crush it and Shirahoshi alike.

In the manga, the seizure of Jinbe, Shirahoshi, and Megalo appeared only as a short flashback once they reached the plaza, and the Neptune balloon never split into a net. The anime omits the underlings' shocked response to the confession while drawing the boast out longer, and inserts new footage of Hody bribing the human pirate and shooting him dead after the signatures were burned. Some coloring mistakes show up in the inverted-color dramatic frames. The source had Hody strike the enraged Neptune with Uchimizu, but here the attack is Yabusame.
