Formed! The Luffy-Law Pirate Alliance!

Law lays out his plan to bring down one of the Four Emperors, and once Luffy hears which Emperor is meant, he agrees despite Nami's protests. Back at camp, Usopp and Chopper recoil at news of teaming with the Heart Pirates, and Robin, though willing to follow Luffy, warns that alliances often end in betrayal. When Luffy simply asks Law whether he will betray them and accepts his no with total faith, his crew is touched by his belief in them after their two years of training. Law restores Franky and Chopper to their bodies, but with Sanji absent, Nami is placed into Sanji's frame instead of her own.

Law reveals the children's drugging and the World Government's gigantification project, which Caesar sought to master in order to surpass both Vegapunk and the government. Nami refuses to leave until the children are safe, and Luffy backs her, insisting he will not abandon his friends and that Law must help them if he wants the alliance. Compromising, Law assigns Luffy to aid the samurai while he studies the drug, comically tying the injured Chopper to his hat. He warns that Caesar carries a 300 million bounty, commands weapons of mass destruction, and can only be faced by Haki users, whom Luffy counts as himself, Law, Zoro, and Sanji. On the fiery side, centaurs unlock a vast door and meet a massive shape that gasses them. Caesar names the rare slime creature Smiley and declares no one will leave the island.

Luffy and Law formally form their pirate alliance against an Emperor. Law swaps the crew back into their bodies, leaving Nami in Sanji's. The goal is set to kidnap Caesar, who has a 300 million bounty and requires Haki to fight. Law splits the tasks between the samurai rescue and drug research. Caesar's pet creature Smiley is released and gasses the centaurs on the burning lands.

The episode adapts chapter 668, debuts Smiley, and introduces the Sara Sara no Mi, Model: Axolotl. The simulcast used We Go! as its opening for licensing reasons. The anime adds Law handing Franky's body to Chopper, Luffy flicking a booger onto Chopper, the centaurs opening Smiley's chamber, extra attacks by Smoker in Tashigi's body, and onscreen reactions to the crew's two-year training. A noted error has Smiley touch fire without exploding.
