Summary

Reaching Caesar at last, Luffy drives a fist into the scientist before their rematch truly begins. Smoker, bound by Law's earlier order to leave Caesar untouched while his heart is still held, breaks off to hunt down Vergo instead. The gas master mocks Luffy's trust in Law, yet the rubber pirate insists the call is his to make. As Caesar drains the surrounding air to suffocate his opponent, Luffy shifts into Gear Second and lands strikes laced with Haki, pushing Caesar into desperate weapons such as a blade of oxygen and bursts of flame.

Key Events

Cornered, Caesar nearly falls to a Jet Gatling, but Monet raises a barrier to save him and urges him to flee and track down Law. Caesar vanishes with a threat to turn the Straw Hats into test subjects, while Monet plants herself in Luffy's path, fearing Joker's wrath should her master die. Far off, Sanji's Flange Strike hurls Vergo into a wall, though the enforcer hardens like metal and fractures Sanji's leg in return. As the corridor between buildings A and B seals and reopens, poison gas begins seeping through, forcing the cook to warn the Marines to retreat.

This installment draws on Chapter 681 and carries a community rating around 7.3. The adaptation stretches the Sanji and Vergo clash, slams Caesar into a wall on Luffy's opening blow, and surrounds their duel with flames absent from the page. Extra beats include Caesar's Gastanet, Usopp and Nami pressuring Brook to face the small dragon, and Law slicing through three of Caesar's underlings on his way to the SAD room.
