Critical Counterattack! Usopp's Quick Wit and Kaenboshi!

Usopp breaks the color-spell Miss Goldenweek had laid over Luffy, then rallies Karoo and the rest for the fight ahead. With Karoo's aid he helps the captain free the others, who then face the two enemy agents. Miss Valentine is handled by Nami working together with Vivi, while Mr. 5 is taken on by Zoro and Usopp side by side, and Luffy chases Mr. 3 and Goldenweek into the trees, where the wax user readies a fresh trap. Off on his own, Sanji combs the island for his companions and stumbles onto a solitary Candle House out in the wilds.

Returning to the pedestal, Usopp comes upon Luffy calmly sipping tea while their friends sit nearly sealed in wax with time running short. A flaming shot burns away the painted shirt and restores the captain, but Mr. 3 reappears to encase himself within a Candle Champion. Mr. 5's blasts drop Usopp, yet he keeps Karoo racing around the pedestal trailing a rope he soaks with flammable oil. As Miss Valentine closes in for a killing blow, Luffy grabs Mr. 3 by his burning, three-shaped hair and ignites the rope, melting the wax and releasing the captives. The escape turns Miss Valentine's grin to horror, and she falls just as Zoro makes short work of Mr. 5. Hunting down Mr. 3 and his partner falls to Luffy and Karoo. Elsewhere, Sanji enters the Candle House, Mr. 3's hideout, where a Den Den Mushi rings with a call from Mr. 0.

Crocodile makes his first, dimly seen appearance during that closing transmission. Several techniques debut as well, among them Breeze Breath Bomb, Candle Champion, Gomu Gomu no Stamp, 10,000 Kilo Guillotine, and Yaki Oni Giri. Minor slips appear too, such as Luffy's shirt blinking in and out as Mr. 3 charges, and a difference in how Miss Valentine pins Usopp compared with the manga.
