Overview

Led by the fearsome Alvida, this band of buccaneers ran their operation out of a hideout on Goat Island, sailing aboard the Miss Love Duck. They stand out as the opening antagonists of the Romance Dawn Arc and the first hostile crew the audience watches Luffy meet.

Their flag is unusual: a side-profile skull resting on crossed bones, marked with a pink heart. That profile view makes it one of the rare Jolly Rogers in the series shown from the side rather than head-on.

Role

By the standards of later opponents, the crew was feeble. Their numbers were thin, and Alvida, whose bounty of five million sat above the East Blue average, was flattened by a single Gomu Gomu no Pistol from Luffy. With their captain down, the terrified subordinates had no stomach to fight and simply handed Luffy and Koby a boat to leave.

The group never truly continued as an independent force. After her defeat, Alvida ate the Sube Sube no Mi, abandoned these followers, and rescued a battered Buggy, joining forces with the Buggy Pirates. That partnership eventually grew into the Buggy and Alvida Alliance and later the dispatch organization Buggy's Delivery.

Notable Members

Alvida captained the crew and was its only figure of note before she struck out on her own. Low-ranking hands such as Heppoko, Peppoko, and Poppoko round out the original roster, and the spin-off game Set Sail Pirate Crew names three more underlings, Yo, Merridge, and Gou. In the anime version of events the crew seizes a passenger liner, and during the chaos Nami slips aboard the Miss Love Duck unnoticed to make off with their treasure.
