Overview

The Big Helmet Pirates are a small pirate gang under the command of Mikazuki. Known in some materials as the Big Helmet Pirate Gang, the crew makes only a brief mark on the story, remembered chiefly for the beating they take at Water 7. Their captain Mikazuki carries a bounty of at least 36,000,000, the only figure the crew is known to hold.

Because the group appears so fleetingly, little is recorded about its structure or wider ambitions. What defines them is a single incident in which their arrogance toward a shipbuilding company earns them a swift and total defeat, establishing them as one of the many low-tier crews that pass through the shipwright city.

Role

The crew sailed into Water 7 hoping to get their vessel fixed up, but balked at the Galley-La Company's price, judging the cost of the work far too steep, and decided not to pay for it at all. Rather than settle the bill, Mikazuki and his crew resorted to threats against the shipwrights.

Among the workers they tried to intimidate stood Rob Lucci, Kaku, Peepley Lulu, and Paulie, all skilled carpenters who did not take the bullying lightly. For pushing their luck, Mikazuki and every member of his crew were flattened outright by the strength of the Galley-La staff, ending their appearance almost as soon as it began.

Notable Members

Mikazuki captains the Big Helmet Pirates and is the crew's only named figure, holding a bounty of at least 36,000,000. He leads the failed attempt to strong-arm the Galley-La carpenters and is beaten down along with the rest of his band.

In anime-only filler, Mikazuki also clashes with the character Aunt and with Roronoa Zoro, brief skirmishes that expand his limited screen presence but add nothing to the crew's canonical roster, which remains defined almost entirely by their captain.
