Overview

Captained by the sibling pair Caribou and Coribou, this band turned up at the Sabaody Archipelago around the time the real Straw Hats were regrouping. For a short spell their leadership nominally shifted to Demalo Black when they signed on with the Fake Straw Hat Crew, believing the impostors genuine until the truth came out. Their flag carries a thin skull shaped after Caribou's own head and hair, and both brothers wear a cross fleury on their shirts. Many crewmates resemble the rounded Coribou, with chubby faces, slim limbs, dark pants, light open shirts, and small top hats, and given Caribou's habit of burying enemies alive, the underlings largely serve as gravediggers.

Role

The crew is reckoned strong, since both captains carried the highest bounties among the new rookie generation during the Fake Straw Hat recruitment, and Caribou's Logia fruit makes him a hazardous foe, though no match for Luffy or Pekoms. Among Demalo Black's gathered recruits they alone slipped capture, dragging the remaining fakes off with them. Their rank-and-file favor pikes, yet their true fighting skill was never really shown, as their vessel was crushed by the kraken Surume before they could resist, though they did survive crushing water pressure and reach port alive. They also subdued and tamed the sea cow Momoo. After joining the fakes with no intent to obey, Caribou aimed to murder them from within, then buried the impostors alive and trailed the genuine Straw Hats.

Notable Members

Caribou and Coribou stand as the brother captains, Caribou the schemer with a deadly Logia power and Coribou his rounder sibling. When Caribou boarded the Thousand Sunny, Momoo bolted in terror of old enemies, separating him from the crew, who were then crushed by Surume while trying to rescue him. Caribou drifted on, sealed in a barrel by Franky, before reaching Fish-Man Island, kidnapping mermaids, and looting Ryugu Palace's treasure. He later resurfaced in the New World, posing as the revolutionary Gaburu, only to be defeated by X Drake and carried off against his will after abandoning his crew once more.
