Overview

Hailing from Paradise and captained by Kibagaeru, this crew is remembered chiefly for its ruin. Their emblem, a fanged frog skull over crossed bones, was surrendered as a gambling prize. During a Davy Back Fight, Foxy's side beat them, claiming that flag together with at least four crewmen, after which the losers were forbidden to display it.

Their ship was an average vessel, notable mainly for the large, sharp-toothed toad head fixed to its prow. Because of the forfeit, the sail carrying their banned mark had to be taken down. By the time the vessel crossed paths with the Straw Hats near Long Ring Long Land, it lacked the crucial crew needed to guide it and was being battered apart by giant Sea Monkeys.

Role

Everything the crew contributes to the story flows from its collapse. Having dropped back to the sea after leaving Skypiea, the Straw Hats discovered their ship carrying no flag, no helmsman, no navigator, and no captain, its remaining hands in a panic. Moments later the Sea Monkeys finished them off.

The cause of that sorry state emerged afterward. In the Davy Back Fight, the crew had lost five matches in a row, and every core member was taken to fill out Foxy's ranks. Those absorbed men donned the eye-masks common to all of Foxy's followers, while Kibagaeru struck out the old Jolly Roger printed on his hat, marking his break from his former captain.

Notable Members

Kibagaeru captained the group before his transfer into Foxy's crew. In the non-canon anime continuation, his role expanded considerably. There, once Foxy dropped the last contest of the Davy Back Fight, Kibagaeru seized command of that crew, launching a mutiny and refusing to let Foxy back aboard. Following a scuffle that also drew in the Straw Hats, Foxy was eventually allowed to return to his crew.
