Overview

One of the shipbuilding firms operating in Water 7, this company was headed by the fish-man Tom. Kokoro handled secretarial duties, Franky and Iceburg served as apprentices, and Tom's giant pet frog Yokozuna counted as part of the outfit too. The shop earned renown for the extraordinary talent of its people, with Tom himself reckoned the finest shipwright anywhere in the world.

Role

Tom started the firm after relocating from Fish-Man Island to Water 7 alongside Kokoro. More than four decades ago he constructed the Oro Jackson for Gol D. Roger, the vessel that carried the future Pirate King. He took Iceburg as an apprentice and, around twenty-six years before the present, brought in an abandoned boy named Cutty Flam as a second. His arrest for building Roger's ship led to a bargain with the judge: in exchange for a decade of work, he would deliver the Sea Train, his own invention, to revive the failing city. After a Rocketman prototype he completed the Puffing Tom, restoring Water 7's fortunes and earning his pardon.

Notable Members

The firm's ruin came when CP5's Spandam demanded the Pluton blueprints Tom possessed. Refusing, Tom watched the agent seize control of Cutty Flam's Battle Frankies and turn them on the judiciary, framing all three. At trial Tom struck his apprentice for disowning his own creations, took full blame, and was loaded onto the Puffing Tom for transport to Enies Lobby, where he was executed. Cutty Flam survived his stand on the rails and rebuilt himself as the cyborg Franky, while Iceburg inherited the Pluton plans, founded the Galley-La Company, and became mayor of Water 7. Franky later joined the Straw Hat Pirates as their shipwright.
