Summary

Word that the oceans climbed two hundred meters ages ago ripples across the world. On Hachinosu, pirates dream of treasure blanketing the seabed, though others point out that reaching such depths is nearly hopeless without a vessel built to dive that far. Moved by the message, Mont Blanc Cricket resolves to dive once more in hopes of relics left by the vanished world. Recuperating from their Hachinosu clash, the members of SWORD rest at the Marines' GS hospital; X Drake pulls away to be by himself, and Smoker calls Tashigi, who confirms she is there.

On Egghead, the Straw Hats watch the dome's barrier drop and the clouds cease stretching, and Usopp figures they have plenty of room to hit the water, while Brook reports the cola is stocked for a Coup de Burst at any moment. Nami reaches Jinbe, who explains that Nusjuro is heading dead-on for the ship rather than veering off. To stop him, Jinbe uses Kata Guruma to sling Zoro at the Elder, and Zoro meets the strike with Restful Paradise Rashomon. Each swordsman senses a cursed Kitetsu in the other's grip before the two recoil, and Zoro tells the rest to shove off while he and Jinbe leap aboard.

Along the northeast coast, Bonney cries out for Luffy as Marines ring the giants' ship. Luffy bellows that he is nearly there and shouts for the ship to move; the giants oblige and smash through the blockade, and though Bluegrass, mounted on a Sea Beast Weapon, punches a hole through the hull, Doll fells Kashii with Rock 'n' Roll Blaster, lifting Marine morale. Luffy sees that Warcury has quit chasing him, having gone to join Saturn, Mars, and Ju Peter against the Iron Giant, which the Elders recognize as the same machine that assaulted Mary Geoise two centuries ago. Just as Vegapunk turns to speak to those bearing the name D., Warcury slams into the giant, jamming the signal and killing the broadcast before its final portion. York drops to her knees, relieved the message has finally fallen silent.

Key Events

Krieg, Pearl, and Gin reappear on Hachinosu, unseen since their Baratie loss, while SWORD, Tashigi included, recovers at the Marine GS hospital, which confirms Drake survived Onigashima's raid. Out on the water, Smoker is spotted dragging an unidentified container behind his Billower Bike. Zoro and Jinbe halt Nusjuro's bid to cut the Thousand Sunny, with Zoro and the Elder each noting a Kitetsu blade and Nusjuro confirmed to carry Supreme King Haki, his sword lacking its tsuba. Dorry and Brogy command their crew to break through the Marine blockade, Doll drops Kashii, and Bluegrass, riding a Sea Beast Weapon, hammers the vessel. Every Elder but Nusjuro closes in on the Iron Giant, and Warcury's charge interrupts Vegapunk's vital message to the D. carriers before its closing part could be heard.

Notes

This Egghead Arc chapter is marked by its unusually brief one-letter title and a cover that continues the Yamato pilgrimage serial. Trivia notes that Nusjuro's blade was missing its tsuba handguard during his clash with Zoro beside the Thousand Sunny.
