Titled "Little Garden of Adventure," this chapter brings the Straw Hats to their second Grand Line stop, a prehistoric island teeming with dinosaurs, while Zoro and Sanji spark a hunting rivalry and a giant's shadow looms.
Vivi has started to warm to shipboard life and the easygoing spirit of her new companions aboard the Going Merry, though she keeps cautioning them never to take the Grand Line lightly. The voyage stays calm until they reach the island Miss All Sunday warned them about, a humid jungle crawling with bizarre creatures. While Nami hesitates to leave the ship as the Log Pose resets, the rest are eager to explore. Luffy, hungry for adventure, strikes out to investigate, and to Nami's surprise Vivi tags along to take her mind off her fears, dragging a reluctant Karoo behind her.
Once the explorers depart, Sanji asks Zoro to bring back game since supplies are dwindling. Resenting any order from the cook, Zoro fires back that he will haul in something larger anyway, and Sanji, refusing to look weak in front of Nami, turns it into a contest over who can deliver the greatest weight of food. Out in the forest, Luffy and Vivi piece together that the place has stalled at the dinosaur age, an island frozen in prehistory. Back at the ship, Nami and Usopp sit uneasily alone until Nami digs up a book that explains the island's name, and a towering shadow suddenly closes in on them.
