Summary

At the south gate, Sanji catches up with Usopp and Chopper and hands the goggles back, only for Usopp to gripe that they are broken, since they were the costliest model out of North Blue. Sanji urges the pair toward the palace to help Vivi. There, royal soldiers racing to defend their princess are stopped cold when Miss All-Sunday raises a barrier of sprouted arms with Dieciseis Fleur. Having already cut down Cobra and a crowd of guards, Crocodile thanks Vivi with contempt for throwing away her life alongside her pirate allies. He states bluntly that Luffy is dead, which she flatly refuses to accept, then declares that a collapsing palace must drag the royal line down alongside it. He turns to Cobra and demands the whereabouts of Pluton, leaving the king stunned that the warlord even knows the name.

Elsewhere in the city, Nami is backed against a wall by Miss Doublefinger, who scoffs that the Clima-Tact is a toy and that true weapons exist only to take life. Hoping to open a window for her finisher, Nami tries a Rain Tempo to thicken the air with moisture but only manages a few small fountains. Dodging a Sea Urchin Stinger, she scatters Cool Balls and then Heat Balls with a plan taking shape. When the agent strikes with Toge Toge Doping, Nami barely slips it and confirms a small cloud has gathered overhead. Pouring out still more Heat and Cool Balls to swell it, she drives a lone Thunder Ball into the cloud and unleashes Thunderbolt Tempo, electrocuting and gravely wounding her foe. The furious agent lashes out once more, but strikes only a mirage, and Nami tells her to keep an eye out for tornadoes.

Notes

The cover moves Hatchan's Sea-Floor Stroll forward: perhaps reminded of Momoo, Hatchan rescues the Sea Boar by cutting down the Sea King with his newly gained trident. The chapter is set during the Arabasta Arc.
