Aboard the ship, Usopp boasts about the monster shadows while Nami berates the divers for hauling back worthless junk instead of riches. Luffy parades around in salvaged armor, and a frustrated Nami nearly gives up on having a destination until Robin produces an Eternal Pose she pocketed from Masira's vessel. The needle locks onto Jaya. Worried their Log Pose to the sky island might reset, the crew settles on a quick visit to gather information and leave before the lock changes.

En route, birds drop dead from the sky, picked off by a distant marksman named Van Augur firing from Jaya itself. In Mock Town, the wreck of a rowdy port, the executioner Roshio wins a card game and a stranger accuses him of cheating, with the henchman Sarquiss backing the claim. The stranger shatters a bottle over Roshio and Sarquiss flicks a lit match, revealing the attacker as Bellamy the Hyena, who carries a bounty of 55,000,000 berries. Luffy and Zoro step ashore relishing the chaos ahead.
