The Big Argument

At the Galley-La headquarters, Corgi departs still unsure whether Iceburg possesses "it." Kalifa brings Iceburg tea and asks why Corgi always storms off in a temper; Iceburg explains that the man keeps making offers for something of his, which he keeps turning down. Nico Robin's bounty poster hangs on the wall behind them.

Aboard the Going Merry, Chopper announces that Usopp has finally come to, and the crew gathers around him. Usopp apologizes for losing the money and asks whether the ship can still be mended with the remaining hundred million berries. Luffy instead reveals they have chosen to buy a different ship and produces catalogs, leaving Usopp convinced it is a cruel joke born of his own failure.

The two spiral into a furious row, brushing aside Zoro and Chopper's pleas, until Luffy bluntly states that the Going Merry is dying. Usopp refuses to accept it, insisting the ship is a friend they would abandon, and offers to stay on as its carpenter, but Luffy tells him that is impossible. When the captain finally snaps and pins Usopp down, all but telling him to leave if he is unhappy, Sanji kicks Luffy and warns him not to throw out words he cannot take back.

Usopp confesses he always knew he could never match the others and only joined because he was invited. Declaring that those with different dreams should part, he announces he is quitting. He then claims the ship for himself, since it belongs to the captain, and challenges Luffy to a duel for the Going Merry.

The chapter falls within the Water 7 Arc. Its cover continues Gedatsu's Accidental Blue-Sea Life, with the Dirt Boss burrowing ever deeper beneath the island at Gedatsu and Goro's command. The item Corgi seeks is later revealed to be Pluton.
