Protectors of the City of Water

The Galley-La shipwrights break up the brawl between Franky and Luffy, irritating the cyborg. Paulie rounds on Luffy for showing his face at the shipyard, and Franky concludes the Straw Hats have crossed both his family and the company. Luffy protests that his crew did nothing, but a disbelieving Paulie throws him into a stack of lumber. As Franky bristles at the interruption, the other members ready their attack to the crowd's delight and Nami's dismay.

When Luffy rises, the shipwrights pile on, and an enraged Franky lashes out at both Luffy and Galley-La. Kaku and Tilestone keep Franky busy while Rob Lucci batters Luffy, who refuses to fight back.

Knocked into the surrounding debris, Luffy demands to know why he is being attacked. Paulie counters that Luffy should explain why the Straw Hats shot Iceburg, stunning the onlookers, Franky, Nami, and Luffy alike. He reveals that Iceburg recalled two assailants, one of them Nico Robin. Luffy insists Robin could never be involved and that Iceburg is mistaken, asking to see him, but the request is refused.

The crowd, incensed at the assault on Water 7's hero, turns on Nami once they realize she is part of the crew. Paulie tells them resistance is pointless, since the news will sweep across the whole island. As the announcement of the Straw Hats' guilt spreads, Robin is shown sitting alone, reading a newspaper.

The chapter is part of the Water 7 Arc. The cover continues Gedatsu's Accidental Blue-Sea Life, in which the Dirt Boss and its superiors tunnel all the way into Arabasta and surface beside a baffled Koza.
