Summary

Near the Going Merry, Sanji and Chopper open the chapter by hollering Aqua Laguna warnings, hoping to tip off Usopp without addressing him outright before they dash back to town. Usopp catches the words yet cannot identify the voices.

At the shipyard, Nami tries in vain to reason with the enraged citizens, but they and the Galley-La members refuse to hear her, declaring the crew their enemies. Now aware of Luffy's Devil Fruit powers, the shipwrights renew their assault, and Luffy, still refusing to retaliate, takes a bazooka blast. Nami screams his name just as she spots Franky, Mozu, and Kiwi seated nearby, calmly drinking. Still furious that the brawl interrupted his fight, Franky flips their table to draw attention, and being told merely to clear off only stokes his temper further.

Key Events

Franky raises his arms into a cannon shape and fires Coup de Vent, an air bullet aimed at the crane. A massive ship is torn apart, the Galley-La members go flying, and Dock 1 caves into rubble as citizens scatter. Luffy walks out of the smoke unscathed, and together with Nami he breaks free of the mob, resolving to confront Iceburg and uncover the truth.

Mozu and Kiwi ask Franky what he intends next; he confesses that blast was his final shot, his drooping hair betraying his spent fuel, and that he must reload before going after Luffy once more. The Galley-La members rise unharmed and observe that, with Aqua Laguna arriving that night and the Going Merry unfit to sail, the pair of trains form the sole remaining route away from the island. Kokoro, Chimney, and Gonbe enter the city while the shipwrights predict the affair will end by dawn.
