Chapter 486

A hidden ship slips away from the island carrying Absalom, Hogback, and the still-unconscious Moria. From them comes word that Kuma's visit was to announce a pirate called Blackbeard as the new Warlord replacing Crocodile, and a newspaper reveals Whitebeard's commander Ace is now locked in Impel Down, a blow Hogback calls a major win for the World Government. Absalom only cares about finding a human bride. Back on Thriller Bark a full day has passed, and Nami, moved to see Lola restored to human form after her shadow had animated the Zombie-Lola, gives her friend some treasure.

As the feast comes together, the Risky Brothers nearly blurt out what Kuma did to Zoro, but Sanji pulls them aside and forbids it, knowing Zoro took the suffering in silence and that Luffy would be crushed to learn of it. Robin overhears with her ears bloomed nearby. Brook wheels out a piano and plays Binks' Sake, a tune Luffy recognizes from Shanks' crew. When Brook starts to explain about Laboon, Luffy reveals the crew already met the whale at the Twin Capes, leaving the skeleton in tears at the thought that Laboon still waits for him. A flashback opens on the Rumbar Pirates first cheering up a small lost whale with their music.

Absalom and Hogback escape with Moria. Ace's capture by Blackbeard and imprisonment in Impel Down is revealed. Luffy finds an armband among the recovered treasure, and the Risky Brothers privately tell Sanji about Zoro. Brook's old song Binks' Sake, known to pirates of past generations, sets up his backstory, and Luffy confirms the crew has already encountered Laboon.
