Oars and the Kasa

The Marine Giant Squad advances on Little Oars Jr., two of its members marveling that for once they are looking up at someone. Marines pile onto the colossus as a frightened Ace watches, and though Sengoku calls Oars Jr. a valuable ally, Ace shouts that the giant's size only makes him an easy target. Undeterred, Oars Jr. tears a warship loose by its mast and swings it like a hammer, punching a hole in the Marine defense.

Whitebeard grumbles that the giant is a fool who confuses heroism with suicide, but when Oars Jr. insists he only wants to save Ace, the Emperor relents and orders his men to back him up. As Oars Jr. terrorizes the Marines, Hancock enters the fray, petrifying pirates and Marines alike with her Slave Arrow and Perfume Femur and declaring that all men are the same to her save one.

Kuma strikes Oars Jr. with Ursus Shock, bloodying the giant and knocking off his conical hat. A flashback reveals Ace crafted that hat in Wano because he imagined the sky must be hot, a gift Oars Jr. treasured through rain and snow. Pressing on, Oars Jr. lunges at Doflamingo, who leaps over him and severs his leg with a laugh. Just as the giant nearly reaches Ace in the plaza, an enraged Moria impales him through the stomach with a shadow spear, Tsuno-Tokage, sending Oars Jr. crashing down a hand's length short of the Second Division Commander.

Nami opens her separation cover story on Weatheria, the home of a weather professor. Little Oars Jr. is shown in full, and Vice Admiral Lacroix of the Giant Squad is named. Alongside Chapter 553, this chapter holds the record for the most double-page spreads at eight.
