Chapter 586

Hauled back to his parents, Sabo is introduced to Sterry, his newly adopted brother, while Ace and Luffy, still held by the Bluejam Pirates, are made to haul cargo to marked spots throughout Gray Terminal. Sabo's father pressures him to pin his crimes on the two boys and strikes him down when he refuses, then bribes the officer to drop the matter. At home, Sterry gleefully tells Sabo that Gray Terminal and everyone living in it will soon be torched, a scheme months in the making timed to the arrival of the Inspection Unit and a Celestial Dragon.

Escaping the manor by night, Sabo overhears Royal Guards confirm the burning will happen the next day and that the Bluejam Pirates are the chosen arsonists. The following day he flees through High Town, finding every noble already aware of the coming massacre, and his father sets guards chasing him. Bluejam reveals to Ace and Luffy that their cargo was oil and gunpowder, and when the furious boys react, his men seize them and demand their treasure. That night the inferno erupts, exits sealed by flame, and Bluejam realizes the King has betrayed his crew, leaving them to burn rather than ennobling them. Ace and Luffy cut themselves free from a tree as the fire closes in. A cloaked stranger catches the fleeing Sabo, who pours out his shame at being born noble, and the man is revealed as Monkey D. Dragon, a fellow son of Goa who promises to remember the boy's story.

Sterry is introduced, Gray Terminal is set ablaze, and Monkey D. Dragon appears, disclosing his Goa birth. A companion in high heels speaking like Ivankov tells Dragon that preparations are complete. The cover shows Smoker trying to coax a drunk Hina home by camel taxi while she insists on more drinking.
