Chapter 95

Night settles over the East Blue, yet Cocoyasi keeps celebrating its costly freedom. Luffy piles into the meat, Sanji drifts off to charm the women, and Usopp trumpets his exploits to a delighted crowd. Genzo visits Bell-mere's grave, pours sake over it, and tells her how strong her daughters have grown, pledging that everyone will live to the fullest for those lost in the fight. When Luffy stumbles by hunting for raw ham melon, Genzo stops him and warns that stealing Nami's smile will cost the pirate his life, a condition Luffy accepts.

Indoors, Dr. Nako explains that erasing the tattoo would still leave a scar, so Nami asks him to ink a new design over it and hands him a sketch. Come dawn the crew readies to sail; Johnny and Yosaku part to go back to bounty hunting. To the villagers' astonishment Nami leaves her entire hoard of stolen money behind, then dashes aboard the Going Merry, lifting wallets off the crowd along the way and dropping the loot at their feet as she waves goodbye.

Nami becomes an official member of the Straw Hat Pirates. Over Arlong's brand and its scar she has a fresh tattoo placed, a tangerine bound to a pinwheel, in tribute to Bell-mere and Genzo. The pinwheel's backstory comes out: Genzo's stern face once made the baby Nami cry, so he pinned the toy to his hat to coax her laughter. Johnny and Yosaku head off, reasoning that bounty hunters should not be seen alongside pirates, and the chapter draws the Arlong Park Arc to a close.

Fronting the chapter is the eleventh installment of the Koby-Meppo diary serial, subtitled "The Unbelievable Hostageppo," in which Morgan snaps his shackles and grabs Helmeppo. Genzo has stopped wearing his pinwheel, having set it with an orange before Bell-mere's grave, saying he no longer has need of it. Trivia records that Shokugeki no Sanji's second chapter takes place in the gap between this installment and the one after.
