Kawamatsu and Sanji try to wrest Momonosuke from Kanjuro, but the spy fends them off with his living artwork and escapes on a conjured bird. Frightened and weak as he is, Momonosuke insists to the alliance that he will find his own way out. The surviving Beasts Pirates ship pulls back, then resumes firing from afar with long-range cannons. Jinbe strikes the vessel and reveals himself, having returned alive from Totto Land exactly as he promised.

Choosing to retreat and deliver Momonosuke to Orochi, Kanjuro pins Kawamatsu with his brush and flies off on a crane, vowing to hunt down and kill Hiyori now that he knows she lives. The Straw Hats confirm Kanjuro as the spy, and Sanji moves to chase via Sky Walk before Kanjuro unleashes Ukiyo Yudachi Ezu, raining ink across the alliance and its ships. As Kanjuro jeers at Oden and Toki's legacy and the boy's cowardice, a tearful Momonosuke urges his allies onward while doubting himself. Luffy answers that he will rescue him no matter what, touching the young heir before Kanjuro spirits him toward Onigashima.

Kanjuro is shown using his own hair as a brush. Denjiro and Shinobu regroup with the Scabbards aboard the Polar Tang, to Law's irritation. The Beasts Pirates battleship sinks several rebel ships before the Straw Hats press their advance, and the vessel is ultimately destroyed as a voice announces itself the newest Straw Hat. It is Jinbe, who confirms he kept his word from Chapter 901 to rejoin the crew for the raid. He is formally named the Straw Hats' helmsman, and his bounty of 438,000,000 berries is shown.
