Amahare

A man of middle age, Amahare keeps his dark hair in cornrows gathered up into a tall ponytail. Over a white kimono he throws a haori patterned with flowers, and he layers on a good deal of jewelry, from numerous necklaces to earrings.

Gentle-natured and even-tempered, Amahare readily volunteers his students to pursue Garou. That kindness runs alongside a deep selflessness: when Fuhrer Ugly launches an acidic blow during their clash, he gives his own life to pull Iaian and Atomic Samurai clear of it.

Amahare takes his seat when the Council of Swordmasters convenes and Atomic Samurai begs them to help hunt down Garou, afraid that Bang alone may die trying. All agree except Haragiri, who jeers, brandishes Monster Cells handed to him by the Monster Association, turns into a monster, and orders the rest to eat or die, only to be cut down first by Atomic Samurai. Later, during the raid on the Monster Association, Amahare backs Atomic Samurai against Black Sperm alongside Zanbai, Nichirin, and Spring Mustachio, holding off the clone army with the refined blade that his council seat demands.

Fuhrer Ugly shows up mutated and sheathed in Gums' stomach acid, killing Zanbai with a single drop, and when he unleashes Full Body Melting Punch to kill Nichirin and Atomic Samurai, Amahare throws himself into its path, begging him to avenge Zanbai as the acid eats him down to the bone. High in G-City's mountains afterward, the council visits his grave, and his daughter Yuta swears to wipe out the last of the Monster Association while Nichirin offers her his apology.
