Bruinado

Character

Bruinado is a Demon-level monster that turned up in the snowy mountains, an anime-only figure convinced he is the mightiest creature alive. The bravado did him no good: a pack of S-Class heroes, joined by Saitama and Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, wore him down and finished him.

Appearance

Bruinado looked like a dark silhouette tucked inside a big brown bear, the beast worn almost as a suit. The only feature on show was a yellow face glowing from within its open mouth. His name points to a brown bear, yet the fur leans closer to red or maroon.

History

He first surfaced across a snow-blanketed mountain range, which pushed the Hero Association to dispatch a group of S-Class fighters after him; the roster ran to Superalloy Darkshine, Metal Bat, Zombieman, and Child Emperor, though the punishing cold may have driven the scale of the response. Their hunt turned up nothing, so they holed up overnight in a lodge. While the heroes tried to work out who had wounded Zombieman, Bruinado drew suspicion, either as the direct attacker or as a puppeteer bending someone's mind, until the Association noted his powers reached no further than punches and kicks.

Once they settled that the earlier wound had simply been an accident, he kicked the lodge door in and made his entrance, only to be dropped almost at once by the exhausted heroes with help from Speed-o'-Sound Sonic and Saitama. Fittingly, his name nods to an old English word for a brown bear.
