Chapter 150: The Black Shine

Atomic Samurai and Iaian hold off a flurry of high-pressure jets from Evil Natural Water. Iaian notices the streams gaining force and suspects the creature has been drinking up groundwater, uneasily imagining what it could become if it swallowed an entire ocean. A concentrated volley then shatters Iaian's blade and nearly finishes him, but Darkshine plants himself in the way, his hardened frame soaking up the attack without a scratch. Treating the whole thing like a bracing shower, he splashes the monster apart with a casual punch.

Elsewhere, Bang and Genos are ferrying Tatsumaki and Tanktop Master toward Fubuki when Black Sperm cuts them off, swarming them with copies. As the two heroes strain to shield their wounded charges, Atomic Samurai and Darkshine arrive to throw their weight into the fight against the multiplying monster.

Iaian's sword is destroyed and he is saved by Superalloy Darkshine, whose durability shrugs off Evil Natural Water's strongest jets. Darkshine scatters the water creature with a single blow. Black Sperm ambushes Bang and Genos while they transport injured allies, and Atomic Samurai and Darkshine redeploy to reinforce them.

In the Tonari no Young Jump serialization the chapter ran under the name Superalloy Darkshine before the Volume 29 print edition renamed it The Black Shine, rendered in katakana rather than kanji. The book release added pages that lengthened the Darkshine versus Evil Natural Water clash and expanded the panel of Bang and Genos surrounded by clones into a detailed double spread. It carries Darkshine as its cover character.
